Port El Kantaoui
Whitewashed marina resort with golf, beaches and boat trips
Port El Kantaoui is a resort built around a marina about 10 km north of Sousse, opened in the late 1970s as one of Tunisia's first integrated tourist developments. White buildings in a neo-Andalusian style surround the yacht basin, with cafés, restaurants, ice-cream shops and souvenir stalls along the quays. Boat trips, including mock pirate galleons and glass-bottom boats, leave from the harbour, and two golf courses lie just inland. Hotels line the sandy beaches on either side. It is an easy, relaxed outing, especially in the evening when the quays fill with strollers.
